Moving Pictures 1.1.1 documentation

What it does:
Moving Pictures allows you to sort and categorise a folder of images faster than you could do it by hand.

There are 4 areas on the Moving Pictures window

  1. The image area. (BLUE) The current image will be displayed in this area.
  2. The folder buttons area. (GREEN) If the folder has the word "Select folder" on it then it is unassigned and you can select a destination folder by clicking on it. Once it is assigned, it has the name of the folder. You can reassign a folder button to another destination on you hard drive, by holding down the control key and clicking on the folder.
  3. The image controls area. (RED) This is where the image list, image name, position in the list, size and size control buttons are.
  4. The Folder Set area. (YELLOW) These buttons allow you to load or save a folder set, switch it to another.
How it works:

  1. Choose a folder that contains your images to be sorted.
  2. Assign the buttons on the right hand side to various folders on your hard drive.
  3. Images from the images folder you chose in step 1 will be shown to you one at a time. You can then click on a folder button to move or copy the image to that folder.
Other operations
Move/Copy popup button: This allows you to move the images or copy them. If you select move, but the image folder you are using exists on a read-only drive (like a CD-ROM) then it will be copied.
Trash button: The trash button is always assigned to the trash. If you hit the trash button, then the image will be moved to the trash can. It is possible to get it back until your system empties the trash.
Whoops button: If you have moved or copied an image to the wrong directory, you can use the whoops button to undo your last move. This will return the image to the image list and remove it from the folder you moved it to.
Size control buttons: Next to the text box showing the current size (relative to its 'true' size') of the image in the image panel are some buttons to allow you to control the size of the image. i) you can type in a size and then click the '%' button, or you can press the '-' or '+' buttons and the image will increase or decrease in size in 10% increments. If you grab the [window corner] and resize the entire Moving Pictures window it will also resize the image. Also, if the image is larger that 100%, then a '100%' button will appear to reduce the image to its true size.
Navigating through the image list:
Next -> button: If you don't want to sort the current image, or don't have a category for it yet, you can ignore it and jump to the next image by using the next button. It simply jumps you forward in the image list
Previous -> button: If you want to move backwards in the image list then you can press the back button.
Alternatively, you can double click on an image name in the image list to jump to that image.
Folder Sets
Registered owners can load and save folder sets. If there are any folder sets saved into the folder called "FolderSets" in the Moving Pictures folder, then they will be available to the 'Switch folder sets' popup button.
If you have a folder set called "Default Folder Set" in the FolderSets folder, then it will be automatically opened at startup.
Miscellaneous information
